We will set the highest standards for our students and expect these to be matched by every member of staff. In return, we will offer an educational environment and opportunities to match the best in the state and independent sectors.

As a trust, we are aware of the issues relating to teacher retention and recruitment as outlined in the DfE ‘Analysis of Teacher Supply, Retention and Mobility’, May 2017. To counter this, the school will have a strong emphasis on staff wellbeing and a commitment to supporting staff professional development. Workload is often cited as an area of concern for teachers; therefore, Edgar Wood Academy will ensure that unnecessary administrative tasks are removed so staff can focus on teaching and learning. The feedback policy will ensure an emphasis on student feedback and practical strategies (such as whole class feedback) so staff can spend more time on planning relevant and engaging lessons.

All roles at the school will be published on this website and advertised in national, local and specialist media as appropriate. If you are interested in working with us at the Edgar Wood Academy, please contact us.
